October 4, 2016
The 2016 Global Gaming Awards took place on Monday 26th September in Las Vegas at the Venetian Palazzo Congress Center. This prestigious annual event recognises the triumphs from the online and offline gaming industries over the past twelve months. There were twelve categories and the panel of 60 carefully selected expert judges cast their vote to decide the winners. Some lucky winners even walked away with two awards and for a third year running, Microgaming picked up the highly sought-after Digital Product of the Year award.
Microgaming was handed this award for Quickfire, a cutting edge, multi-operator platform which has had a huge impact over the past year. “Congratulations to Microgaming, one of the biggest names in the digital supply industry who has once again had a tremendous year, spearheaded by this year’s digital product of the year, Quickfire,” said the Gambling Insider Editor, Alex Hammond.
Quickfire, powered by Microgaming, is enjoying its most successful year to date and this innovative platform now supports Microgaming’s Live Dealer, Casino, Bingo, Poker, Multi-Player and Mobile software. This is now the platform of choice for more than 400 individual operators and it is now packed with a comprehensive library of more than 600 games with top-performing titles from Microgaming and also from Microgaming’s development partner companies.
Playtech ended up winning the Best Digital Industry Supplier award for significant achievements over the past year. The judges award them this award for the cutting edge Playtech ONE Omni-channel solution and for Playtech’s unrivalled portfolio of games and also for the scale of new business. “Congratulations to Playtech for winning in an exceptionally competitive category and claiming the trophy this year,” said Hammond. These comments were taken directly from recent Microgaming and Playtech press releases.
The Playtech COO, Shimon Akad, also commented on the win, saying, “The award is recognition of our core focus for continued innovation. The past 12 months has been another record-breaking year and we are delighted to be rewarded with this highly sought after title.” Quickfire’s Director, Andrew Clucas, said, “This win highlights the incredible progress of Quickfire since launching in 2010.”
He finished by saying, “The platform has emerged as the product of choice for operators who require immediate access to the best online gaming content from Microgaming and select development partners. It’s great to see the industry celebrate the content, flexibility and innovation of Quickfire.” You can find out exactly who else won by visiting the Global Gaming Awards’ official website.
